Set up a custom Christmas schedule

Working from home one day? Out visiting family another day? Your routine over the Christmas period is likely to be quite different from how it is the rest of the year.

If that’s the case, why not create a custom schedule for the holidays that works around your Christmas commitments? Keep it simple by creating a new profile to keep your house in Comfy mode when you’re at home in family-hosting mode – and one that programmes your home to be in Hibernate mode for those days when you’re in family-visiting mode.

Find out more about setting a custom schedule for the festive season by taking a look at this handy guide to creating your own heating schedules.

Cosy + Hibernate mode = no burst pipes

Putting your Cosy into Hibernate mode is a great way to make sure you’re not using energy when you don’t need to be. Thanks to Hibernate mode you can turn your heating off when you’re not at home. What’s more, even though your heating is off, Hibernate mode’s frost protection feature makes sure that your home never drops below 6°C (this is the default ideal temperature for Hibernate mode). This means no burst pipes and plumbing disasters for you!

To put your Cosy into Hibernate mode, either press the Hibernate button on the display or change your mode via the settings screen in the Cosy app.

You can find out more about Hibernate mode here.

Get clever with a Cosy Smart Plug

Did you know that by linking a Cosy compatible smart plug to your app you can schedule your lights to come on when your heating comes on? This is possible thanks to our unique Welcome Home feature. Cue a warm and well-lit home for when you stumble in late and can’t find the light switch after one too many eggnogs at your office Christmas party…

Otherwise, get in to the festive spirit by connecting your smart plug and app to the fairy lights on your Christmas tree. Talk about a bit of Christmas magic!

  • Why is there still no support for Apple Home, Amazon Alexa integration or others?

Apple Home has been out ages now and other home heating systems support external systems. This is the key reason I’m thinking of moving away from Cosy, when is support for these functions coming?

  • Hi Matthew. You’ll be pleased to hear that Amazon Alexa integration is in the pipeline! As soon as we have a firm release date, we’ll be sure to let you know. Stay tuned – and have a happy New Year! Michelle
