Minister for Digital discusses digital energy services during visit to geo

Matt Hancock, Minister of State for Digital, paid a visit to geo’s offices on Friday 3rd November, where the geo team provided the Minister with a tour of our Hardwick premises. Mr Hancock was interested to hear about the scale and complexity of the support structure and the digital aspects of managing a supply chain such as geo’s.

Mr Hancock, whose remit includes data, the Digital Charter and digital technology, spoke with our founders, CEO, Patrick Caiger-Smith and Chief Strategy Officer, Simon Anderson on the topic of smart meters, energy performance and the role that enterprise businesses are playing in digitisation. They also discussed the impact of digital energy services and the importance of their impact on the consumer.

“It was fantastic to see and hear first-hand the work being done at geo. The UK is a digital world leader, globally renowned for its innovation and tech talent, and the work being done by geo and other UK digital energy enterprises will be of great benefit to consumers everywhere.” Mr Hancock said.
