How Cosy can help you be more energy efficient in your home

1. With Cosy you don’t need to heat your home while you’re not there

How often do you think the heating is on in your home when you’re not there? We decided to find out… and discovered that 45% of 22 people we asked thought they spent over £200 a year heating their home unnecessarily. That’s a lot of money – not to mention a lot of energy wasted!

With Cosy though, you can create up to seven unique heating schedules (one for each day of the week!) to suit your lifestyle. That way you can be sure your heating is only ever on when you’re at home to enjoy it.

And, if your plans change – maybe you’re invited to dinner after work (hurrah!) or have to stay late at the office (groan!) – you can quickly and easily adjust your Cosy schedule, using the handy app, to have your heating come on later than usual.

2. With Cosy you won’t need to crank up the temperature

Ever come back home to a chilly house and turned your thermostat dial up to the max thinking this would help heat your home up more quickly? Well, we hate to break it to you but this doesn’t actually make your home get warmer, faster. It also wastes energy.

With Cosy though, you don’t need to do this. By scheduling your heating to be at the temperature you like for when you get home in the evening (I like to have Comfy mode – 18ºC – set to come on at 18:00) you won’t even be tempted to turn up the heat.

That said, if you do feel one day that you need an extra heating boost – simply press the Cosy button, on either your display or app, to enjoy an hour of cosiness (default 22ºC) to warm your cockles.

3. Hibernate mode for when you’re away

Going away for a few days? Don’t leave your heating on if you don’t need to – just think of all the energy you’d be using! Instead, pop your Cosy into Hibernate mode. This mode switches your heating off whilst you’re away. But, never fear, even if the weather does take a turn for the worse, Cosy will make sure that your home temperature doesn’t drop below 6ºC so that your pipes aren’t at risk of freezing.

Your comments

  • I already have a wireless thermostat which appears to be doing what Cosy professes to do. Do I really need a Cosy?

  • Thanks for the question, Ray. In short: it’s totally up to you! If you feel that Cosy has features that are of more use to you and your home (like, having a portable thermostat, pipe frost protection, app control, ease of use and hot water/twin-zone heating control) than your current thermostat, then we’d say “why not give Cosy a whirl?”.

We recommend checking out our Cosy store page (right here: http://cubiq.geotogether.com/product-category/smart-thermostats/) for more info on the smart heating systems we offer. And, if you’d like any more info, our support team (email: cservices@geotogether.com) will be happy to help. Michelle
