10 things you (probably) didn’t know about your Cosy
1. Kickstarter beginnings
Cosy hit the big time after we launched a super successful Kickstarter campaign back in March 2014. After hitting our target – raising over £20,000 from 147 backers – we were able to start producing Cosy on a larger scale – and to make a few tweaks to Cosy’s original Kickstarter design.
Spot the different between the Kickstarter Cosy (L) and the Cosy 3 (R)!
2. Cosy won an International Design Award (IDA)
We think Cosy is a bit of a looker, but don’t just take it from us! Thanks to Cosy’s innovative, portable design (Cosy was – and still is – the only portable smart thermostat out there) and its stylish range of limited edition displays it was awarded silver in 2014.
3. See more data with this quick Cosy Display tip
Did you know that if you press and hold the left (Slumber) and right (Cosy) buttons down on your display for a few seconds you can see even more Cosy info?
Hey presto! You’ll be able to see how much battery power your Cosy Display has left, along with the current date, time and lots more lovely data. Go on, try it now! We’ll wait right here for you.
4. Cosy now controls twin-zone heating…
Just in case you missed the memo, Cosy now works in homes with twin-zone heating. This means, you can control the heating of each zone of your home separately – great for if you like the downstairs of your home to be warmer than your upstairs.
5. …and hot water
Cosy also works in homes that have a separate hot water tank. This feature lets you schedule your hot water tank to turn on and off (in the same way as you control your heating) whenever you choose.
6. Cosy: what’s in a name?
Did you know that Cosy is the only one of our products that doesn’t have a musical name? Take our Minim+ or Solo PV or Trio II or… for example!
7. Display vs. app use: which is more popular for changing mode?
Turns out, almost twice as many of you lovely Cosy users trigger Comfy or Cosy mode by tapping your display than by using your app.
How about you? Do you tend to use your app more than your display – or vice versa?
8. Welcome Home to Cosy
No one likes coming home to a cold, dark house – that’s why we created our unique Welcome Home feature. By connecting a Smart Plug to your Cosy system you can schedule your lights (or slow cooker, or even your electric blanket!) to come on when your heating does. That way you can come home to a warm, lit and welcoming house every evening. You’re welcome!
9. Cosy doesn’t replace your existing thermostat
Did you know that your Cosy smart thermostat and switch are installed alongside your existing thermostat? This means Cosy can move home with you and you needn’t worry about redecorating over that little square patch of wall space where your old thermostat used to be. Phew!
10. There’s a Cosy Mobile App and a Web App
Even if you only ever keep track of Cosy on your iOS or Android phone app, you can also access the Cosy Web App with all its lovely, new temperature graph data. Click this link to go to the Web App site and enter the same login details as you use for your Mobile App.
We hope you enjoyed this run down of fun, lesser-known facts about Cosy. How many of these did you know already? Pop your comments in the box below. We look forward to hearing from you!
